The framework

The lens through which the educational content is created and the ways information is shared is based on anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approaches.

This means that Explicit Education acknowledges and tries to shift the inequities that people face due to their intersectional identities, life experiences, socio-economic status, race, gender, sexuality, etc. It does this by teaching educational content that invites everyone to learn about these inequities and what they can do in their own context to make a difference.

Trauma-informed approaches mean centering and consider people’s experiences with trauma. By seeing how trauma impacts people’s lives, we can begin to shift our thinking, practices and policies to create a safer, more understanding community for everyone.

What is offered?

Explicit Education offers educational services, including professional development, workshops, and training. Online, self-paced courses are also offered.

All educational services are customizable to meet your needs and be relevant and applicable to your context and audience.

Why is this important?

Explicit Education exists to build connections through learning. These connections are bridges to understanding one another, ourselves and the world around us, with the ultimate goal of creating a community with foundations of acceptance and inclusion.
